Canadian born, native English speaker with a university degree and post-graduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Living in Costa Rica for the past ten years. Presently, I teach English as a foreign language in Costa Rica, provide basic and advanced English text correction services to Japanese clients, and review/correct the grammar and spelling of journalistic articles for online publication. I also check that the phrasing is in natural English.
In my previous life, I was a GIS Specialist. I created customized maps for clients and developed introductory and intermediate GIS courses for government employees.
Before becoming a GIS Specialist, I held various administrative/secretarial jobs in the engineering and manufacturing sectors. These positions entailed entering data and automating mathematical problem-solving through computer programming. After several years, a unique opportunity in the medical field presented itself. After another few years, I returned to school to complete my degree. While a student, I developed a business and website that marketed custom-made products for a niche market.
