As a Design Team Lead in my present role. I am,
• Responsible for scheduling, resource planning and resource allocation for all Design Engineering deliverables carried out in Aberdeen office.
• Act as an interface to the client or project engineering department on detailed design issues.
• Responsible for managing a team of 15 people which include Lead design engineers, Design engineers and Draftsmen.
• Ensure designs are fit for purpose and meet client design requirements and responsible for approving Engineering calculations and drawings.
• Responsible for approving Engineering Record Books.
• In-charge of standardising ‘High Pressure Isolation Tool’ product range and identifying appropriate tool and providing solutions for pipeline isolation jobs.
• Technical support for Middle East and Canada engineering office for design solutions and problem solving.
• Designing bespoke solutions with products such as high pressure isolation tools, structural clamps, repair clamps, hot tap clamps, pipeline connectors, permanent and temporary pipe end plugs, pipe lifting tools etc.
• Designing Mechanical side of remote control modules of isolation tool for subsea applications.
• Involved in development and implementation of engineering design process to tie in with new MRP and ERP system
• Responsible for identifying training programs for the design team and mentoring developing engineers enrolled for MPDS in writing professional review report for IMechE Chartership.
