I am a freelance graphic designer serving businesses, ministries, and professionals. It's not just business, it's personal!
My interest in graphic design started when I was in high school. I taught myself Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop using the official Adobe books for those programs.
I attended East Carolina University, was accepted into the Communication Arts program, and graduated with a BA in Communication Arts. That is when my operations as a freelance graphic designer really began.
Saint Mark 4B Baptist Church in Sumter, SC, is a church that really allowed me to grow as a graphic designer. For many years I designed their marketing materials including their church logo, conference flyers, banners, and posters. In working with Saint Mark I discovered that I had a passion for designing for the church. I currently design and manage the church website and digital newsletter for Christ Fellowship.
In past years, working as a freelance graphic designer was something I did in my free time. My full time job for 13 years was working as an employee for INSP, LLC television network, national television network seen in more than 81 million households across the country. It used to be called “The Inspiration Networks” or “Inspiration Ministries“. At INSP I gained a vast knowledge about television. I picked up technical skills and even became a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). I did not design for INSP until the last 6 of my 13 years when I became the Digital Signage Coordinator.
As the Digital Signage Coordinator I was the principal graphic designer for the digital signage platform which consisted of 42 LCD screens and 36 PCs. Those designs included advertisements for campus events, corporate and employee information, and advertisements and menus for the CrossRidge Cafe, formally known as the “City of Light Cafe and Bookstore”. I also managed the internal WordPress website.
I learned plenty while working at INSP! I was even invited to Las Vegas, NV to be a keynote speaker at a Digital Signage Expo where I spoke on Digital Signage System Design.
