Experienced at Drawing Laughs

I have been a regular contributor of art features to national children's magazines. I was the main illustrator of a series of textbooks for a major publisher, and have contributed artwork to educational publications for many years. My work has been commissioned by companies in the technology, health care, gift and stationery, television and advertising industries.
My profile specifies humorous illustration because most of the art that I do, from thinking up ideas to sketching to completing a finished painting or drawing, at some point takes the slightly goofy path through my sense of humor. It is not always art that produces big laughs; it might just produce a smile or a "Ha!"

Work Terms

An ideal assignment for me is one where I can bring my unique perspective and imagination to a client's need for illustration, taking the basic idea and brainstorming with a pencil until some viable solutions are found. Sometimes this process takes place with ample time available, and sometimes in just a few days. I'll submit a rough or more finished drawing to the client for approval, and make suggested changes before going to final art. The time to produce finished art varies with the media, but whatever the approach I always appreciate having enough time to do my best work. I take deadlines very seriously, and my clients can rely on me to deliver work on time. At the start of a job the price is set for sketches and for final art, and usage of the art is determined. When payment is made, using SafePay by check, E-check, or wire transfer is the preferred method. I will discuss a job with my client by phone or e-mail as often as necessary, and in person if we are geographically close.
