Proof of Concept Optical Engineering, LLC is a small consulting business located in Boulder, CO. Our mission is to provide low-cost, reliable optical services to support product development.

Proof of Concept was formed in 2013 to meet industry demands for contract-based optical support. The company is owned and managed by Donna Waters. Donna has been working in R&D for 30 years. Her areas of expertise include aerospace, picoprojection, lasers and laser communications, photovoltaics, fiber optics, thermal imaging, telescopes, cameras, detectors, and remote sensing. She holds an MS Physics from UC Santa Cruz and an MS Optics from the University of Central Florida (CREOL). Early in her career, she was an experimental researcher at several national laboratories, including NASA, NREL, Sandia, and ZAE-Bayern. She worked as a senior optical engineer at Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. and Micron Technologies prior to becoming a full-time optical consultant.
