Creative, enthusiastic and passionate about art, writing, design and illustration.
Born in Ottawa Canada, I've been has drawing and writing ever since I could hold a pencil. A Bells Corners Art League Award winner & Staff Award winner in Fine Arts, I went on to study art at the University of Ottawa and later pursued animation at Algonquin College. A deep love of comics and illustration lead me to create a 4 issue comic anthology with fellow cartoonists called "Abraxia’s Dream".
I've illustrated five children’s educational books with Swordfish Toys in Australia (Alphabet Madness, Crazy Counting, Shapes, Colours and Mazes - forthcoming) as well as three children’s picture books with UK - Canadian author Bobby Salvin (Naughty Nutcap, Momma’s Magic and Foolish Finn), the former a 1st place winner of the 2013 Daryn Tsuji Prize. The latest children's book I designed and illustrated (Eraser Cookies by Rosina Schnurr) is forthcoming.
Currently I coordinate the monthly Ottawa Comic Jam Group at the Shanghai Restaurant (est 2009) and create character designs and scripts for Brain Power Studio in Toronto, Canada.
My work is lyrical, simple but rich, combining black & white comic art with ink washes. More often than not, my comic artwork takes ‘comic’ to heart and incorporates humour, usually self-deprecating. I have a variety of styles, from traditional super-hero to more cartoony and a gamut in between, which I use to express different stories and themes.
