I'm passionate about editing, writing, and teaching others to do the same. I try every day to be the best I can be and I want to help you be your best, too.
I was born in the US and I have lived here my entire life. I am a native English speaker and writer. I was a high school teacher for 30 years, and I've been a freelance editor and writer for over 25 years. I recently retired from teaching because I love my freelance work so much that I want to do it full time.
I've done hundreds of projects for dozens of clients, including researching, writing, editing, fact checking, and/or citing sources for:

Nothing is more important to me in business than my integrity. I will not be dishonest with you, even if the truth casts me in a bad light. I will lose money before I will cheat you. I will work hard to earn your trust and your respect. I will always treat you with respect, and I will endeavor to meet your expectations. If we disagree about something, I'm always open to discussing it and seeking a peaceful and mutually beneficial resolution. If you cheat me or treat me badly, I will stand up for myself, and I might be forced to end our working relationship, but I will not treat you badly in return, and I will not behave in a dishonorable way.

Work Terms
I'm in the Central Time zone of the United States, and I work during the day. I guarantee a response to your communication within 24 hours, with a goal of 6 hours if that falls within my working day.
EXCEPTIONS: I do not work on Sundays, Good Friday, or Christmas. Therefore, for any communication received after 6 pm CT on a Saturday, Maundy Thursday, or Christmas Eve I only guarantee a response within 48 hours.
I charge my full hourly rate for the FIRST hour or ANY PART of an hour. After the first hour, I charge in 15 minute increments, rounded to the nearest quarter hour. For example, if my fee is $64/hr and I work...
* 20 minutes, the fee is $64
* 1 hour and 10 minutes, that rounds to 1 1/4 hr and the fee is $64 + $16 = $80
* 1 hour and 37 minutes, that rounds to 1 1/2 hr and the fee is $64 + $32 = $96
