The best audio work is the one that disappears when the immersion takes over.
I'm a sound designer and audio engineer living in Adelaide, South Australia with my wife and 3-year-old son.
For more than a decade, I used to do live sound. Touring, corporate audio, all sorts of shows. Trucks filled to the rafters with loudspeakers, amplifiers and rolling trunks filled with cables in all shapes and sizes. That kind of life doesn't let you see your family very often, so I changed course. Tried consulting for a while (I have a degree in physics and am a trained data scientist), but that doesn't tickle the same bones as sound and music, so I changed back, but this time with the goal of working closer to home.
So I put together my own studio and began using my skills to help tell stories in video games, podcasts or audio drama. And that's what I'm doing now.
