I began my career as an Auditor with Deloitte, one of the “Big Four” leading firms in the accounting & consulting industry. During this time, I developed analytical and critical thinking, data mining, and general IT knowledge by performing an analytical review of company documentation, performing research to identify audit and accounting issues, assessing risk, review of internal controls, and the research and presentation of recommendations for improving efficiency.
I then advanced into the role of Financial Reporting Analyst at a leading direct marketer of maintenance & repair operations products. Working within a two-person team, I accelerated my knowledge of writing financial statements, cross-departmental collaboration, and gained insight on strategically attaining the company’s key financial and performance measures.
In 2013, I had the opportunity to apply my experience to an organization that I was personally invested in as the Executive Assistant at a NonProfit Organization. Being the right-hand team member to the Executive, I was able to expound my business skills in the non-profit sector. Due to the nature of this role, I was often in charge of handling highly sensitive information, engaging important partnerships, and communication oversight. Exceeding my prescribed duties, I cultivated leadership skills including project ideation & management, community outreach, and team management.
