About

Best-Selling Author Staying Connected with Her Copywriting Roots

Emily Belden is a ball of creative energy living, working, and playing in the city of Chicago. She started a blog 4 years ago called “Total E-Bag” and suddenly became the cool kid in school. Little did she know at the time, one of her first posts would morph into a full-length manuscript – a memoir – called Eightysixed. It is a story of a scandal and serendipity. “A comedy of misses,” we like to say.

Regardless, Emily created a proposal for the book and Forbes Magazine thought it was pretty good, so they wrote about it. And a few weeks later she was juggling interest from six New York City publishers and agents, all who wanted to give Eightysixed a home.

Eventually, Emily signed with a publisher from Austin, Texas. From the first call with their CEO, she knew that they shared her vision and saw beauty in the imperfections of her story. The book is due out February 6, 2014.

In between working on the next great American novel, she is running her business: Happy Happy Gay Gay, an online greeting card store celebrating same-sex love, marriage, and milestones.

You can buy Emily’s book on Amazon and like her Facebook page to follow her.
