I seek to deliver specialized, efficient substantive and copyedits so that your ideas are communicated in the best way possible.
As a junior at Lake Forest College outside of Chicago, IL, I have developed a strong skill set as an editor. Currently, I am an editor for my school's humanities journal and will take on the role of Editor in Chief in the coming year when I will lead a group of budding editors through the entire editing process from start to finish. Outside of this, I have experience editing for a professor as well as a children's story. Specifically, my skill set includes firming up works by authors who write in English as a second language, authors who have been writing for short stints of time, and authors publishing to academic journals. Though I realize my age might work against me, I am an educated and dedicated editor, and I pledge to present any author with a finished copy that they can be proud of.
Work Terms
As per the quarantine conditions of our current state, my hours are completely flexible for the foreseeable future, and I am happy to work with authors on their own time. One of my tried and true editing methods includes creating outlines that work backwards to help structure essays for the expectations of their field, which I have found has allowed authors to improve their own writing skills. However, for those that simply want a job well done, I am skilled in traditional editing as well. I will be happy to supply interested employers with examples of work that I have done in the past upon request.
