Without labor nothing prospers

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to check out my profile! I have a varied background in both work experiences and education. I attended Oakland University in Rochester, MI and received a B.S. in Biology in 2007. I then worked as an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow for a literacy organization in Los Angeles, CA. After completion of my term, I worked as a Laboratory Technician, first for National Genetics Institute in Los Angeles, CA, and then for St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti, MI. During this time, I went back to school to receive an M.A. in Nutrition and Food Science from Wayne State University. After studying traditional nutrition, my personal interests turned toward alternative and holistic health. I have been studying these topics in my free time, though I eventually plan to continue my formal education.
While my career has been in limbo, I have been picking up temporary work assignments through Robert Half. I would absolutely love the opportunity to pick up some freelance work through Guru. It seems like the perfect platform for me to expand my work experience and skills with the flexibility to continue my education. I'm a total "people pleaser", which translates well to my work ethic, as there is nothing I hate more than to disappoint someone! Aside from holistic health, I'm also interested in environmental issues, animal ethics, and a total music junkie. Though any work that has to do with these topics is a bonus, I'm willing to do a wide range of tasks. Believe it or not, I actually enjoy clerical tasks like data entry, and organizing lists on Excel!
