I have beenWriting website code from scratch is a personal love of mine. It is something I do on my own time, just for the joy of writing code. I'm looking for clients that have small tasks that can be accomplished quickly and also some long-term projects that will help me grow as a website designer. I write procedural PHP scripting code, versus Object Oriented Programming (OOP) code at this time. I am always, however, improving my skills and looking into new and exciting ways to solve coding challenges. I am a researcher by nature, and so if I don't know the answer to a question, or don't have an answer to a problem, I research it to find the best answer. My philosophy is: a job is a problem. All problems are solutions in disguise. No problem exists that cannot be solved in one way or another. Therefore, any job that I receive is a problem in need of a solution.
I started building websites in 2004, after taking a class at the University of Michigan that taught the basics of HTML 4.01. The rest, I have learned myself, through trial an error, perseverance, and the love of coding. I am proficient in basic HTML, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, and JavaScript, and am more of moderate code writer in PHP and MySQL, as I can build nearly anything that the languages will allow to be built. I am always learning new coding standards and aspects of web design, AJAX, being my current project. I hope to find projects that welcome the freedom of thinking outside the box and pushing the limits of what technology can do.
