Digital Media Master
5 annoying traits that employers love (but her coworkers hate)
1. Her organizational techniques are borderline OCD: She keeps a running spreadsheet of every task she has completed at work. Every email is filed away. Her morning routine hardly waivers from the norm. This tends to make coworkers look bad because her desk is always tidy and she is never later to work.
2. She can juggle things so well that she should join the circus: It’s pretty annoying to try and talk to her when she is doing 3 things at once. Mind you, she does those 3 things at once perfectly and still follows along with the conversation. It’s almost like she is showing off. “Look what I can do!” We all see you Erin, you can do all the things. Now, slow your roll so we can catch up.
3. People are often shocked by her loud voice: Loud in the sense that she lets her voice be heard, not by the level of the tone. It is so unexpected. Erin looks like the quiet, passive, go-with-the-flow type. You won’t even see it coming. Her ninja-like assertiveness is calculated and sometimes down right frustrating. I have tried to outsmart her, but she always sneaks in and makes a better argument.
4. Debating with her is almost pointless: No, she won’t shoot down all of your ideas. She will listen to you, but there is no throwing her a curve ball. Years of training [by way of caring for her son] she has the ability to stay on track, to get her audience to listen, and is able to make even the most hardheaded opponent listen to her reasoning. She’s too persuasive.
5. She can easily wear more than one hat: She is a one-woman band. Web Design, Journalism, Graphic Design, Project Management. On top of that, she is the Tutorial Queen, so new skills come very easy to her. She has the ability to single handedly finish a job that usually takes a few people to complete. Honestly, this is probably the most annoying trait of them all, because now my boss is noticing her highly integrated skill set.
