Step by step Guidance to Successful Start-ups of Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and the skills they require to compete in their industries
I am a qualified Electrical Engineer (with a BSc. Engineering degree) by profession with a passion for business development. I have been in business for 8 years and wrote my thesis for my Masters Degree in Business Leadership (MBL) on the "Skill required by a SME to successfully compete in variuos industries". I have been responsible for starting helping unemployed guys from the Diepsloot township with no business experience start up a construction company and grow it to profitability by mentoring and advising along the process. I have also been responsible for improving the maintenance department for a state owned entity by reducing their maintenance backlog by 60% in a 1 year period. I have inspired over a 1000 school kids from poor townships to start trading as vendors and assisted them with cash flow statements, balance sheets and stock taking and they have managed to feed themselves and their siblings. I advised a small petroleum company improve their project management processes which improved their customer response time by more than 40% which improved operationg profits by 20% in that financial year while improving the quality of their product. i have been responsible for a number of feasibility studies for companies operating in the FMCG industry where speed is king and also in the highly competitive industry of second hand car sales. I started my own second hand car business while working as a Senior Advisor for Electrical Energy State Owned Enteprise (SOE) where I was responsible for planning and scheduling of projects and maintenance work in order to improve their operations and reduce customer interruptions
Work Terms
I am available for work everyday from 16:00 pm until 21:00 pm during the week and 7:30 am to 18:00 pm during weekends. The preferred method of communication is emails at siphesihlesatimburwa@eskom.co.za. I prefer to get paid a 30% deposit on request of work and the full amount on receipt of the final work deliverable.
