A wordsmith at your service to give your copy polish and tweaks that you're looking for. I offer editing services including substantive/line editing, copy-editing and proofreading.
If you don’t object to your precious manuscript being returned to you as a handful of soggy confetti with the equivalent of a college thesis in corrections, changes, suggestions, and comments on how to put it back together, you're looking for me!
A former mainstream business journalist, I run my services from the Indian city of Calcutta. Trained in journalism by one of the top-notch English newspapers in India, I have 26+ years of desk (editorial) experience at four major English dailies published nationally, and a company that provides editing services online. Of the 26+ years, I worked for 22 years as business journalist. I am a seasoned editor and can handle the language with skill and élan.
Whatever your requirements are – rewrites, editing, or proofreading – you get quality products at reasonable prices. You leverage my 22+ years of experience as business journalist into the bargain, which would help you take your business to the next level.
If you awarded me your job, I would improve your writing style and the flow of your prose. Bad syntax would be dealt with and clunky expressions, wrong/awkward phrasing, misspelling, and typos taken care of. Dangling modifiers/participles, mix-up of tenses in the clauses of a sentence and careless punctuation would be fixed. The final text would be lean, tight and neat without losing the tenor of the original copy.
Simply put, I will ensure that proper grammar, spelling and punctuation go in the final text. And while I’m at it, I will keep in touch with you to apprise you of the progress of the project.
Work Terms
I prefer to work on fixed-payment jobs and extensively use e-mail for communication. However, for jobs that require a lengthy tete-a-tete, Skype could be a better option. I love to imagine myself as the proverbial elf who would sneak into your workroom in the dead of night and complete a job to your liking and surprise!
Hourly payment jobs are not my cup of tea as I habitually do some fact-checking on jobs, and cross-check information I'm to weave into my work. This requires going the extra mile and working longer than necessary. The journalist in me invariably rises to the occasion every time I put pen to paper, or fingers to the keyboard, to be precise, and I can't help it!
