I am a veteran teacher of science. My specialty is high school science with a concentration in life sciences. As a teacher I employ blended learning techniques, online lectures, STEM techniques and utilized learning management systems to differentiate and reach every student. Advanced Placement (AP) Biology is a true love of mine and I've enjoyed teaching students in this subject the last 15 years. I have also taught Chemistry, Biology, Honors Biology, Marine Science, Environmental Science, Anatomy, Life Science, Earth Science and Physical Science.

The majority of my experience in education is as a teacher in independent and private school settings. It is a great joy to meet the academic standards in the state that I teach, but I also make a point to exceed them. I have also done Masters work in Education leading to a K-12 Certification in Science.

I've also been uniquely blessed to have attended many seminars and undergone training to move beyond just teaching. I have served as a science department chair where I was responsible for mentoring teachers and the well-being of an entire science department. I enjoy work in curriculum development and have been trained with curriculum mapping techniques, software and design. I am well versed in UBD and techniques that enhance and enrich curriculum.

I have served as a technology trainer for new teachers. I work well in First Class, Schoology and other learning management systems. I help new and veteran teachers to learn to utilize these systems to streamline their teaching process. This includes the use of blended learning tools to create online videos, online assessment and other forms of alternative learning that add to the course of any teacher.

Work Terms

Flexible based on project. I prefer longer deadlines for big projects 3-4 week lead.
My tutoring rate for AP course and prep is $70 per hour. My regular subject rate is $50. All other writing jobs will be bid at competitive rates.
