My journey of a thousand miles started roughly in the year 2011. Before then I had very limited use of the internet. After completing my education, I started "tarmaking" looking for employment. In my country, it is a very common phrase used by graduates who end up looking for work opportunities for many months or even years, after their graduation. While searching for work that I could do virtually, I came across a client who needed someone who had typing skills to type down an audio file that he was providing and then sending it back to him as a word document. I was very green, and didn't know that skill is what is called Transcription. Albeit this, this is where I got my first experience doing transcription. I was excited that I was finally earning some cash. Fast forward, 2017, I am hooked to say the least. Doing this service is not only what I do, but it is something that I'm really passionate about. Being able to deliver client-ready transcripts, and easing that burden on my client is what I enjoy the most. From that first client, I have been able to work for individuals and also on different online platforms. Because of this, I have been exposed to different types of transcriptions such as podcasts, business, legal, medical, academic among others. I have learnt that in order for me to be perfect at what I do, I have to value hard work. This entails being able to deliver work on time, which is proofread and client ready. I'm also big on respect and ensuring that my client's thoughts and opinions come first. After all, the client is always right! With my personality, I find that I'm very visionary and always look forward to being the best version of myself, this means being a better transcriber than what I was before. I know that people will always remember you by what you last did best, and my aim is always to leave a lasting impression. I enjoy reading, writing and being creative. Not forgetting DIY projects.
Work Terms
I can work for 12 hours a day, although my hours of working can be flexible depending on the project. At the end of the day the denominator here is my client. I promise to be available whenever needed. Day or night. In terms of payment, this can always be negotiable also depending on the type of project. I'm open to suggestions as long as the conditions will favor the both of us. That is me and the client. Last but not least, communication is very important especially when working on a project, and a client can feel free to contact me either through Skype or gmail.
