If I wasn't busy editing my short story using all the amazing feedback Gloria gave me, I'd write an entire short story on how awesome Gloria is! My hiring of Gloria and use of Guru was a first time thing for me. Also, I'm a new writer in the creative writing/fiction world, so it was a big step for me to not only use a platform like Guru, but to go to a professional, like Gloria, and have my work critiqued. Gloria immediately alleviated any fears that I had in the process. I hired Gloria to give specific feedback on a short story I had just finished a first draft on, and to provide general feedback for me as a novice writer. Gloria was very responsive in all of our communications. Immediately upon our initial hiring agreement, she reached out asking which form of communication would work best for me so that we can discuss in-depth what I was looking for. This made me feel that she truly cared in the quality of work she was looking to provide. I think it was only 48 hours when Gloria returned to me multiple pages of exactly the critique I asked of her. The feedback she provided made it obvious that she spent a very thorough amount of time reading my work and creating meaningful feedback that not only helped me move forward with my second short story draft, but also has painted a clearer picture for me in what I need to do in becoming a better writer. From start to finish Gloria was nothing but professional, and I think I got much more than what I had paid for. With also being new to Guru and the "writer community", in general, it meant a lot to me that Gloria was very personable in our communications and she made me feel accepted and encouraged as I felt vulnerable with putting my first bit of written work out for the "world" to see. Gloria was more than helpful for the type of work I needed, and I would 100% recommend her to anyone who would ask. I look forward to working with her again, which will certainly be happening with future works I complete.
