More than words
I am an English mother tongue, born and raised in Alaska, USA. I moved to Italy in 2009, which helped me achieve fluent Italian, and I currently live in Bologna with my Sicilian husband.
I have a BA from Mount Holyoke College (Massachusetts, USA), where I studied Economics, History, and Italian. I also spent a year of my BA studying the same subjects at Università di Bologna.
In addition to seven years experience as a freelance translator, I also spent four years as an English Teacher in Sicily, and have worked as a Language and HR specialist for a Business Internationalization company these past four years in Bologna.
My various passions, as well as my connections in international business, have allowed me to gain valuable translation experience in many areas: History, Finance, HR, Culinary Arts, Tourism, Marketing, Sales, Dentistry, Medicine, Teaching, Self-Improvement, and Literature, just to name a few.
I am a fast learner, and I enjoy tackling new and challenging subjects. I pride myself not only on accurate translation, but also on properly conveying the underlying meaning and tone of each piece.
I am ready to help you share your material with the English-speaking world!
