He studied at the University of Amsterdam, Bradford Business School, the University of California, Amsterdam Institute of Finance and INSEAD.

In 2008 Syleus bought indirectly a majority interest in the AFS Group, an independent European multi-asset class broker, primarily operating as an intermediary for Financial Institutions, Corporate Clients and (semi) Government bodies.
In 2012, Syleus divested successfully their active investment in AFS, after obtaining licenses for subsidiaries from the Dutch Financial Authorities (AFM) and Central Bank (DNB) to set up, place, and underwrite investment products and funds. In 2012 Syleus refocused on the advisory and corporate finance activities, driving sustainable value growth for our clients.
