Harry Barnes is a co-founder and Managing Director of Element78 and leads the firm’s strategic advisory practice. Mr. Barnes is responsible for transaction origination, due diligence, deal structuring and negotiation. Mr. Barnes has over 20 years of experience spanning across strategy, marketing, capital raising, and business advisory.

Prior to Element78, Mr. Barnes was a Managing Partner at Growth Advisory Partners, LLC, a firm focused on advising business owners, family offices and private equity firms around business planning, raising private capital and making direct investments in middle market companies.
 
Prior to Growth Advisory Partners, Mr. Barnes was a Private Wealth Manager in JP Morgan’s Private Bank, where he worked with high net worth business owners to strategically plan, invest, borrow, and manage risk across both personal and business balance sheets.
 
Prior to JP Morgan, Mr. Barnes helped launch and grow Banking Syndicators of America (BSA), a boutique investment banking firm primarily engaged in raising capital and structuring financing programs for franchise organizations and lower middle market companies.
 
Mr. Barnes started his career in Deutsche Bank’s Asset Management business as an inside sales representative. Over his tenure there, he held a variety of management positions of greater responsibility, ultimately in a senior role leading the firm’s $20 billion direct sales and client service fund division.
 
Mr. Barnes received a BBA cum laude in Economics and MIS from Ohio University, and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management with concentrations in Strategy, Analytical Consulting and Marketing. He currently holds Series 63 and 7 licenses from FINRA.
