I grew up on the Canadian Prairies and was raised with a strong work ethic. I joined the Royal Bank out of school as a management trainee and was promptly moved to a small prairie town. I quickly understood that it was the young RCMP members who were getting paid twice what bankers were and getting all the action. Within a year I had joined the RCMP. After five years of service I teamed up with another member to do some land development and open a restaurant. We ultimately dissolved the partnership. I joined the Honeywell Corporation and enjoyed a successful, progressive management career in electronic security systems. This took me across Canada and provided experience in virtually all markets. I left Honeywell after 11 years and joined a wholesale Optical distribution company. I spent twenty years managing independent sales agents in Canada and the US selling to independent Optometrists, Optical boutiques and large chain accounts/ buying groups. I have done a lot of writing and training during my career and have published articles in magazines and newsletters. I am a seasoned business professional with significant experience in technical/medical environments and have a strong orientation towards sales and marketing in a relationship based selling environment. I understand the importance of deadlines and delivery of quality work.
My hobbies are physical fitness (2nd Dan Black Belt in Tae kwon do), reading, music appreciation. I am very active in the car hobby. I have built and currently maintain several collector cars, hot rods and customs.
