I spent my entire career in multinational English-speaking companies as HR BP and employee relations manager, and I have great experience with employee relations and labor law in Russia. I am an author of many articles and posts in Russian HR journals and blogs (please have a look at my portfolio). During my career I used to manage various cases of organizational changes and complex disciplinary/grievance issues, so I perfectly know how the things work there.
Another part of my job was always to train line managers in various employee and labor relations topics and legal procedures – I have a talent to tell about complex things with simple words.
My intent was always to prevent all the potential labor issues, or at least resolve it on the site level without the local authorities intervention. I was successful with that in most cases, but still participated in 7 court cases related to the labor conflicts, and the company won all of them.
Union relations and collective agreements negotiations are also in my portfolio – I was personally leading collective negotiations with two competing unions at one production site, I was in charge of the disciplinary termination of the union head (and successfully prepared our position at the court hearings), I created and led the local onsite labor dispute committee.
