Teach Love & Compassion.
Be Creative & Sustainable
My name is Ian "inky" Lippincott and my diverse skill set & passion for creating engaging, creative projects, come from a background of two decades, specializing in: web/motion/graphic design, creative marketing strategy, illustration, & public art/installations.
Equipped with my pencil, Adobe, and a solid internet connection, there is no creative obstacle I cannot overcome!
I received my BFA in Integrated Design from Parsons New School for Design in 2005 and have been mastering Adobe since the late '90s.
I practically LIVE inside After Effects - with Photoshop on one monitor & Illustrator on another, vectorizing hand-drawn images, retouching, creating special effects, & animating a variety of 2D & 3D motion design content. For the past 2 decades, I have also created libraries of motion graphics & generative content for live VJing, gallery events, and public video displays.
Whether in-house or freelance, the work I tend to perform (and love!), traditionally oscillates between physical fabrication/installation & digital video/mobile/web/motion design.
I am adept at formatting most media deliverables to spec: pre-press/printed/publications, interactive/performances/events, and the ever-changing image-size guidelines of social channels.
Having been a front-end web developer for years, I've built a number of client sites with HTML, CSS, Javascript, and jQuery. Template site-builders such as Wix & WordPress are a no-brainer - though I think they all look the same unless a designer really pushes the template's creative limits.
Over many years of honing & testing my creative passions, I have grown to hold several leadership roles such as Creative Director, Art Director, Creative Lead, Adjunct Professor, Teacher, Senior Graphic/Motion Designer, & Production Manager.
I love continuously learning new skills or methods and I am often presented with an opportunity to teach it, turn it into a shareable presentation, or host recurring workshops on the topic for my students or my team.
I utilize Agile & Scrum methodologies to balance #Goals & #Expectations, thus helping protect & align the investment of both parties. Figma, Jira, Miro, Asana, & Trello - are just a few project management apps I've deployed to facilitate the timely delivery of assets while maintaining high creative standards & value.
