Editor, Storyteller, Translator (English to Hindi and back), Campaign Manager and a Seasoned Researcher
I am a New Delhi-based freelance editor (providing copy, developmental as well as proofreading services), creative writer, storyteller, translator (English-Hindi and back translations), fiction fanatic, campaign manager and seasoned researcher. I am currently serving as an editorial consultant with Penguin Random House (with a focus on children's books). I am also a heritage facilitator with FLOW India, an education and culture organization with a human-centered design focus. Before I switched to full-time freelancing, I served as the Chief Copy Editor at The 1947 Partition Archive, a resource organization which is dedicated to recording oral histories of the witnesses of the Partition of 1947 throughout the world and across various cultures from the subcontinent. Being part of the archiving team, I was deeply engaged in the process of preservation and dissemination of the oral histories collected so far. From my diverse experience of working in a publishing house, writing scripts, as well as curating oral histories, I have developed an understanding and sensitivity towards cultural history vis a vis contextualizing, distillation and dissemination of information. I am thus interested in being able to harvest this accumulated knowledge in building cross-cultural and inter-generational dialogue in any project that I may undertake in future.
