Building language bridges over the language barriers
I grew up in South Texas in a family of 12, which only spoke Spanish at home. My school experience includes the first 6 years of Bilingual School programs and the last four including advanced Spanish Courses. This foundation helped build my love for language. After managing and owning a restaurant straight out of school I decided to move to the Pacific Northwest to Washington State's Yakima Valley. That is where I started my career as a Freelance Interpreter and Translator in 2006 after seeing the great need for bridging the communication gap between English speaking medical providers and Spanish speaking patients. I took the WA DSHS interpreter exam and started providing my language skills. In 2010 I started working for a Property Management Company that had lots of Spanish speaking tenants. That played into my skillset. In 2016 I also started interpreting and translating for the Klickitat County Courts System as well for local Lawyers. In 2018 I started interpreting and translating full time for One Community Health in The Dalles, OR. I am currently still doing freelance interpreting and translating work after hours and weekends. I enjoy spending my down time with my wife and infant son , as well as spending days at the beach or volunteering with my local congregation.
Work Terms
I usally like to turn around most translating jobs within 24 hours if they are 200-500 words. Anything above that we would have to see about agreeing a timeframe to complete work. Pay is to be given upon receipt or within 30 depending upon agreed terms.
