J. Ray Sparks grew up in the Nashville area where he started doing creative on ad campaigns and public relations as a teen and kind of took it from there. He found himself in Seattle at the height of the tech gold rush working as Director of Marketing for a very smart, young start-up called Speakeasy Broadband. He moved to NYC where he worked helping indie labels optimize their artists' presence online with Toolshed. Next, it was the TV business, focusing first on SEO for TheDailyShow.com and then producing some of the first Facebook apps and Pages to exist, including one for a nifty cartoon called South Park. He also produced The Daily Show and Colbert Report fan sites.
Sparks went on to work with numerous brands as a consultant focused on the German language market such as Hamburg’s Kite Worldwide and Berlin’s Maffick Media. Geist im Glas, his hobby business, became one of Berlin’s best-known cocktail bars.
Most recently Sparks relocated to Minneapolis where he focuses on video podcast production in the B2B, thought leader sector.
