Efficient and reasonably priced technical writer, editor, project manager and admin.
A long time ago in a galaxy far away, I received a BBA in Finance and Insurance. I worked in the finance/insurance industry 5 years, and then embarked on the telecoms and IT world in a variety of roles. Initially started as an admin. I worked my way into customer service, then technical writing, followed by project management and people management. In 2001 when telecoms came crashing down, I did a few years of stay at home mom. I got back into the business doing outsourced work for the company that laid me off. Since then, I've taken on several short and long term assignments, some home based and some at clients office. I have strong skills with the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). I also have used Visio in several projects. Although I have no PM certification, I have worked several projects using the Kaisen model to demonstrate current processes to develop improved future processes. Can provide samples upon request of technical or marketing literature that I have created.
I volunteer in the community at my children's schools (PTA). I have put on the school carnival for the past 2 years securing vendors and volunteers on a limited budget. I am also on the youth soccer board for the city of Plano non-profit organization PSA. In this role, I assign children to existing teams, build new teams, and participate in disciplinary hearings when parents or coaches have violated code of conduct.
Age is just a number to me. I still play basketball and soccer myself.
