New Horizons New Beginnings is an editing and writing service I provide, backed by more than 30 years professional experience in these fields.
I self-identified as a writer as soon as I learned to read. Professionally I began writing as a journalist in the 1980s. Later, after transitioning my career into government service, I began writing and publishing novels, including the Universal Life Force Series Featuring Antiquity Calais, a scifi fantasy series, as well as a series of non-fiction books collectively known as The World According to Crash Series.
I currently work as a college professor, teaching journalism courses, so while my preferred genre for writing is scifi fantasy and humor, as a professional educator for more than a decade, I routinely read work on all subjects.
Work Terms
My hours of operation are flexible. I am new to guru.com, so these terms could change, but I can say that historically when I have worked with a new author, I typically request a 2-3 page writing sample, so I can assess the level of writing ability, and can determine how long it may take me to edit the complete manuscript. I also typically have asked the author to pay a portion of the fee up front, with the remaining balance due after I have completed the edit. My rates are reasonable, because my goal is to provide the author with a polished manuscript that they can reasonably hope to make a profit through subsequent sales.
