Journalism career began as a broadcast journalist that included not only writing and reading news but documentary production involving research, interviewing, writing, and co-production. Employed as news director at two radio stations. While upgrading education to obtain BA degree summer employment was in the communications department at Saskatchewan Power Corp. Duties included liaison with and monitoring media, writing press releases, employee profiles, contributed research and development articles to internal publication. Wrote speeches for CEO and deputy premier of Saskatchewan.
Subsequent employment as newspaper journalist and editor at weekly newspapers. In that capacity hired, trained, and supervised "stringers" who were high school students interested in journalism. At daily newspapers was senior journalist with forte in investigative reporting. Been freelancing for over 10 years.
