I have an MS in Virology and Immunology with an emphasis on Molecular Biology;
10 years' experience in hospital, public health, and research laboratories;
6 years' writing and editing for an international academic clientele;
Wrote and/or edited successful grant proposals submitted to the American Association for Cancer Research, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the US Department of Defense, NIH, etc;
I contributed regularly to the Colgate Oral Care Report and to ISPOR News (pharmacoeconomics);
I have authored my own peer-reviewed journal article (Janet N. Stewart et al. Human coronavirus gen expression in the brains of multiple sclerosis patients. Virology 1992;191:502-505.), and several book chapters, as well as appearing as an author on several other peer-reviewed journal articles;
I have experience writing for academic researchers and physicians;
I am presently a freelance scientific editor in Molecular and Cell Biology with Cactus Communications;
I am presently in the employ of McGill University as a Graduate Research Assistant who mainly collaborates on the writing of grant proposals and manuscripts on an as needed basis.
Work Terms
I charge 60 USD per hour and work Monday to Friday, unless there is an urgent deadline to meet, in which case, I can work weekends. My preferred means of communication with my clients are e mail and Skype.
I use Microsoft Office, Safari, Google, PubMed, and Zotero.
