I am a software developer with a passion for problem solving, deliverable results, and independent learning. If there's a problem, I can figure out how to solve it.
I decided to start freelancing because I value independence and personal choice in my work over the security provided by a more conventional job. This comes from a dissatisfaction with a former career path in the military, which as you can imagine was highly rigid and structured. After I left the military in 2017, I moved on to another fairly rigidly structured role at a manufacturing company and was still dissatisfied, so I decided to forge my own path by revisiting some of the skills I learned during my undergraduate work and starting a new and more independent career as a software developer.
Besides software development, I enjoy barbell training, chess, and reading and discussing the Western literary and philosophical tradition.
Work Terms
I prefer to communicate through email or text, but if you'd like we can set up a phone call or video chat as well. I like to keep my work hours flexible rather than committing to a standard 9-5 schedule or something similar. I measure my work by the results of the projects I work on, not the number of hours I spend at the computer.
