I'm Jay Davis, and I bring over 3 years of diverse experience in IT roles like Digital Workspace Developer, Technology/Project Officer, IT Systems Administrator, and Software Engineer. My focus has been on honing my skills in software development, especially in mobile and desktop app development using languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, React Native, and Flutter. I'm also well-versed in SQL and have hands-on experience with AWS, Firebase, MySQL Workbench in MySQL, and data science/mining, where I create efficient algorithms and programs in Python and Java for data cleaning, processing, and visualization.

My top strengths lie in strong leadership and communication skills, a robust work ethic, unbeatable loyalty, and efficiency in collaborating within diverse teams. In my professional journey, I've had the privilege of working with esteemed organizations like JCU and Queensland Health, where I undertook responsibilities, such as developing reputable programs and traveling to remote communities for network device configurations. Additionally, I solely developed my first professional app for a medium-sized Australian company before turning 21 and completed my bachelor's degree in IT from JCU.

Starting my IT career at 17 as an IT systems administrator for a small company in Cairns for more than 2 years, I've consistently shown dedication and growth in the industry, eventually transitioning to roles at Queensland Health and then JCU. This trajectory reflects my ongoing professional development and adaptability across different work environments.

Work Terms

I currently work permanent full-time with JCU as a Digital Workspace Developer. My hours for freelancing vary but mainly operate 5-7:00 on weekdays and 12-4pm on weekends. In terms of communication, I prefer phone calls or a meeting over Teams/Zoom.
