About

My aim is to work as a team member with an individual or organization that values its human resources and the skills of its employees.

I am a native of Jamaica and have worked for over twenty years as an administrative assistant and export documentation officer in various organizations, such as the Jamaica Information Service, the Wisynco Group of companies and J. Wray and Nephew Limited. My duties consisted of general secretarial functions such as typing, filing and answering telephone calls.Other duties involved the preparation of documents such as letters and reports using Microsoft Word and the preparation of spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
As an Export Documentation Officer, I had to prepare documents for shipments of goods to the Caribbean, Asia Pacific, United Kingdom and South Africa. Documents such as invoices and bill of lading are common to all countries but in addition, specific documents are required for a particular country.
For the past ten years my work experience is that of publishing/proofreading assistant within the University of the West Indies Press.Duties involve acknowledging of manuscripts, keeping an acquisition records,obtaining reviewers for manuscripts, assigning ISBNs and preparing ISBN monthly reports, ensuring contracts are prepared for authors and preparing metadata for Kindle and Kobo publications.
I uphold strong christian principles, and works to the best of my ability. I am honest, truthful, trustworthy and enjoys working with persons possessing similar qualities. My interests are home management, drapery making, baking, sewing, reading and listening to world news.
My skills include the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, pdf document, data-entry, proficiency in using and writing English and typing at an average of 60 words per minute. In addition, I do well at transcribing audio files and handwritten documents to a word document with proficiency. I do very well at time management.

Work Terms

I am available to work for ten hours per week, or two to three hours per day for specific jobs. My payment terms are $10 per hour in general, however, I will accept jobs with a set pay rate as is necessary for special projects. Payment is always negotiable. My preferred means of communication is the use of the English Language.
