Have you ever tried to use a website or a program and nothing seems to work how you think it should?
I have and it really bothered me so I decided to do something about it. I received my masters degree in HCI from DePaul University and began my quest for common sense UIs right away.
My career began working within the refining industry, creating user interfaces that refinery operators use to control the plant and respond to emergencies. These were complex systems with little or no room for error and my goal was to structure the information in an intuitive way while also displaying information in a clear and easily digestible manner. This experience has shown me just how critical design and architecture decisions can be in a real environment.
From there I began working on various UX design projects and eventually began managing the full lifecycle for websites (while still working on the UX design when the project allowed for it).
My primary skill falls into wire framing and information architecture and to that end I am proficient with the Adobe Suite, Sketch, Axure and a host of other online wire framing tools. The key is finding the right tool that will do exactly what you need for the project.
Beyond that I dabble in graphic design, user research, photography and web design. My prices are always flexible and if you're looking for something that's not in my primary skill set let me know and I will be happy to discuss it with you and see if I can help you out.
