Jeff has appraised items for high profile individuals, as well as for museums, universities, insurance companies, and attorneys. He is also a sports memorabilia appraiser consultant for such appraisal companies as Kersten’s Antiques, Pall Mall Art Advisors, Gurr Johns, and Rago Arts & Auction Center and for insurance companies, such as State Farm, AIG, Chubb, PURE, and Hartford. Jeff has worked very closely with SCP Auctions, Heritage Auctions, The National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame Museum, and many others. Jeff has performed appraisals for the MGM Grand Casino, Boston Children’s Hospital, Detroit Red Wings, The Los Angeles Yacht Club and others. In addition, Jeff has appraised a 2 ½ million sports card collection, which is believed to be the second largest card collection in the United States.
Jeff has authored both non-fiction and fiction books with a collection theme. One of his books, Picker’s Pocket Guide to Baseball Memorabilia, has been a best-seller on Amazon, and was #1 in its category. Jeff has authored over 600 published articles primarily on collecting. He has hosted radio shows in the United States and worldwide, and has been heard in 174 countries through the American Forces Network and millions of listeners. He has been a popular speaker with the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
He and his wife Linda established the Figler Foundation in 2006, a non-profit organization which aides in research for the treatment of cancer, heart disease, speech and hearing disorders, as well as youth-related medical conditions.
As part of The Figler Foundation, the Figler Museum is world-renowned, and features rare and unique collectibles which are displayed in each of the galleries in the Museum. There are three galleries in the Museum, namely one of sports memorabilia, one of presidential items, and one of pop culture collectibles.
