Expert Artist Extraordinaire
Jennifer enjoys working with texture on unique and interesting surfaces. Born in Rochester, NY and raised in Dallas, Texas, she has involved herself in art throughout her life. Early drawings and sketches as a child evolved into a passion for painting. Her experience over the years includes drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, graphic design, murals...you name it, she's most likely done it!
Jennifer received the "Award for Excellence" in art for her graduating class in high school. After graduating in 1988, she continued on to study fine art in college. Included in her studies were not only painting, drawing, design, and sculpture, but also graphic design. Throughout her education, Jennifer won several awards in school and city wide competitions.
In 1993, Jennifer went to work for the Phoenix Art Group, a well established studio founded in 1970 which has expanded every year with clients such as Ethan Allen.
There she started as an artist's assistant and was promoted to rep portfolio designer. She worked in several different mediums to develop new designs on paper and canvas for artwork representatives all over the country.
After moving to Colorado in 1995, she continued to design for Phoenix while developing her own unique style. She began entering galleries and juried fine art shows and has since won several awards for her artwork. Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Studio Art through Florida State University after relocating to Panama City, Florida in 2002.
There is no one technique to explain, but rather a unique blend of techniques
that are used in her style. Experimentation with numerous materials achieves
rich surface textures and depth in her work. Artist's mediums along with
other materials are used to build layers incorporating papers and tissues within
the textures. Professional grade acrylic paints including metallic and translucent
pigments add color with intensity. Gold, copper and silver leaf accents often compliment.
Work Terms
For most jobs, I would ask a small deposit up front with payment upon completion of the requested work once a client has approved the finished piece. Terms are negotiable of course depending on the time and size of the project. In addition to offering a variety of techniques, I am very flexible and easy to work with! Challenge me~
