A word-crafting, cat-wrangling, dog-whispering veterinarian writer
Jennifer Wells, a Michigan State University graduate, currently practices relief veterinary medicine in southern Michigan. Dr. Wells enjoys working with companion animal medicine in a variety of settings and seeks out opportunities to use her medical knowledge in new ways. She has served twice as a veterinarian for the Iditarod sled dog race in Alaska, has pursued veterinary mission work in Haiti, Honduras, and Mexico, and helped in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and Mississippi. Dr. Wells also had the opportunity to teach at Wayne State University in the Veterinary Technology program for two years.
She lives in Manchester, MI, with Bo, a geriatric Border Collie, Messy Kitty, a Hurricane Katrina rescue, seven chickens with Disney princess names, three guppies, Flora, Fauna, and Meriweather, her husband, David, and their daughter, Isabel, who, of course, named the fish and chickens.
Dr. Wells enjoys writing about her veterinary adventures, sharing her love and knowledge of creatures both great and small, and getting her hands on furry or feathered critters whenever possible. Scaly critters, not so much.
