About

Writer and Editor

I write poems, novels, short stories, articles, personal essays, stand-up comedy routines, short films, and letters. I've also edited novels, poems and poetry collections, articles, blogs, for other writers and businesses.

As a freelance writer, I have profiled entrepreneurs, sculptors, novelists, taxidermists, brewers, musicians, and carvers, contributing frequently to Great Lakes Bay Regional Lifestyle Magazine, and as Editor-in-chief of 360MainStreet.com. My reviews of books have been found in the Collagist, the Brooklyn Rail, and at Newpages.com, where he also served as Editor of Literary Magazine Reviews. My poems and short stories have found homes in Spittoon, Dead Flowers, and Inner Art Journal; others have been distributed as collections of poetry and art. I've written a regular blog for the Arts Council Napa Valley on what it means to be a citizen of the arts in Napa County, where I served as Poet Laureate from 2017 to 2020. As Poet Laureate, I hosted monthly "office hours" to meet in small groups with poets and other writers; I also taught workshops in novel-writing and poetry, spoke to community groups, and wrote new poems to commemorate county celebrations.

I hope to cultivate a rich community of writers, readers, and artists, whether as a participant, patron, or planner.

Work Terms

I am a stay-at-home dad, so I usually work when my kids are asleep; which means a few hours in the early afternoon, and at night or early mornings.
