Grant Writer, Consultant, Business Owner and Full-Time Super Mom!
My name is Jessica Rowley and I am a business professional, consultant, grant writer, and mother.
I graduated from California State University, Sacramento, with my Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science, with a concentration in Administrative Health Care. During my internship with the Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency, I served as a Staff Service Analyst under the Director of Public Health and Director of Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health, while providing assistance to the Department of Emergency Preparedness and Department of Mental Health for special projects. This included the development of the Tulare County Suicide Prevention Task Force, planning and coordination for the Tulare County Mass Vaccination Exercise, and the creation of the Tulare County Emergency Preparedness Guide. I was hired on immediately following my internship.
I went on to fill the role as Planner (Grant Specialist) with Proteus, Inc. – a nonprofit organization serving Fresno, Kern, Kings and Tulare County. In my four years as a full-time grant writer for Proteus, I helped the organization develop programs and secure funding for workforce development, education and vocational training, energy, and youth programs for migrant and low-income families in the Central Valley.
My partner and I started our own business in 2009, which we grew from an events company into a media and consulting group. Over the years, I have worked with various clients, such as: school districts, nonprofit organizations, small businesses and startups – helping to secure over $20 million in grants and donations in the last 5 years for my clients. Most notably were the development, submission and award of four CA Career Pathways Trust grants, which totaled nearly $15.5 million for school districts, community colleges and universities in the Central San Joaquin Valley.
