JESS
I am qualified at a technical level in writing given my background in Communications. Furthermore, I have expanded these skills and experiences into a personal blog. I am able to adjust my style based on the needs of the client. I am competent in news articles, feature articles, PR press releases, character profiles, opinion pieces, reports, and essays.
Furthermore, as a student of Development Studies and someone who has worked in the field of Community Development alongside international NGO’s and grassroots organizations I am accustomed to the use of Development jargon.
I am currently combining my passion for writing and development, and being trained as a grant writer.
My additional skills include photography and editing. I am proficient in the use of Photoshop, Wordpress, Weebly, Microsoft Office and am currently learning to use InDesign and Adobe Spark. I have a sound knowledge in social media as well as audio and video production, editing, analytical research, multimedia skills, writing and interviewing. I would also like to emphasize my ability to quickly adapt to a new environment and learn new skills. I work well under pressure both in a team and as an individual. I am always helpful, friendly, reliable and motivated. I keep a positive and professional image. From traveling I have picked up skills in the Spanish language (currently intermediate) as well as cross-cultural communication and cultural relativity. I am always learning and stepping up to new challenges in order to expand my skills and experience. For 3 semesters I studied whilst traveling and maintained a Distinction average. This required not only hard work but also extensive skills in time management, patience, dedication, motivation and computer literacy.
