I have a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Mercer University and a Master of Arts in Social Science from Georgia Southern University. I completed my thesis on using participatory action research to evaluate the interagency collaboration of a community-based after-school program partnership. Furthermore, I strengthened my quantitative research, evaluation, and project planning by working on various contracts as an intern in the Office of Program and Policy Studies Services at the U.S. Department of Education. My commitment to the high-quality evaluation of education programs is fueled by my own experience as a low-income student. I have spent many hours volunteering at college access programs to personally contribute to student achievement and to understand what students want out of high-quality programming.
