Hi, I'm Jillian,
I'm a freelance graphic designer and photographer in Arcata, California. The graphic designer side of me creates everything from business cards, logos, packaging designs, t-shirt designs, posters, web sites and everything in between. The photographer side of me focuses on capturing beautiful landscapes, unique architecture, studio and outdoor portraits and stock photography.
I originally hail from Dallas, Texas. Everyone always asks me how I ended up in Humboldt County. I met my charming husband Troy who's from McKinleyville, California when we both were enlisted in the Air Force in San Antonio, Texas back in 2009. When we both separated from the military he talked me into moving back to his home town area. It didn't take much convincing after falling in love with the breathtaking redwood trees, mystifying fog and gorgeous beaches. We moved here in 2014 and have loved being here ever since. Our cats Stormageddon, Apocalypse and Ragnarök love it here too.
I'm currently going back to school to earn my BA in Art Studio. I'll be graduating in May 2017. This means I'm continuously beefing up my creative skills and will be bringing the best work to you, the client. I'm looking forward to expanding more of my freelance work after I graduate.
When I'm not creating awesome things I enjoy taking hikes in the forest, listening to The Killers, drinking lots and lots of coffee and exploring and learning more about beautiful Humboldt County.
Work Terms
I start work after initial discussion of project has been done and a contract has been created and signed by both client and creative. I ask to be paid half up front and the rest after I have finished my work on the agreed upon estimate of cost. I like to communicate as much as possible through email for documentation reasons for client and creative.
