Gosh, I don't know if I'm a "Guru," but I sure like what I do and think I'm pretty good at it!
Born in Kansas, raised in Maine, Jim studied at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and has been an art director, designer and illustrator in the NYC for nearly 20 years.
What he loves to do most: tackle design challenges with bold vision and attention to detail. Whether it's an identity system, an ad campaign, an annual report, a Web site or an app, he always try to tell the story in the simplest, clearest, most vivid way possible.
He has enjoyed leading teams, being a part of teams, and working as an individual. Jim has experience with digital platforms as well as pre-21st century media. He has managed vendors, developers, lead client presentations. He has worked with not-for-profit performing arts organizations both enormous and microscopic, as well as large international commercial agencies.
He's been using the Adobe Creative Suite for many years and would be considered highly proficient in the big three: InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. He has extensive experience with pitching and presentation, white board/live scribing, storyboarding, concept illustration, and environment visualization.
With several years of UX/UI planning and design experience, he's comfortable working across all channels of the digital/interactive development process.d
