Jim has been told that he’s been drawing since he was two-years-old. His first mural was a fire truck drawn with red lipstick on his mom and dad’s bedroom wall. He has since moved beyond using cosmetics to make his art. Still loving the tactile sense of pen to paper and of brush to canvas, Jim continues to apply his talents to physical mediums but admits the majority of his workload now is done digitally. Still a challenge, he says, but much more forgiving.
Jim has been creating art his entire life and wouldn’t have it any other way. He draws his inspiration from other artists, nature, people, and a lot of literature–mostly sci-fi, fantasy, and historical fiction. Jim also writes but admittedly, not as well as he paints.
He has worked in multiple genres including comic books, album art, poster art, concept art, book illustration, mural painting, sculpting, character design, logo and sign design, book layout, and cover design. Fully versed in Adobe software and he has been working with Photoshop since its introduction. Jim also has experience with Corel Painter, Krita, and Blender.
I love telling a story with my illustrations. The saying goes “A picture is worth a thousand words,” but I think a picture should be worth a novel.
Jim lives in the Texas Hill Country with his wife, son, a fluctuating number of chickens, Koi, two parakeets, a couple of cats, and a relatively loyal dog.

Rush projects are not encouraged. A twenty percent good faith payment (applied to total) required.
