My goal is improving the capacity of the built environment to support and enhance human health, well-being, and performance.
My experience is primarily in the industrial, educational (K-12 & higher ed), and healthcare market sectors in facilities planning & space planning, requirements definition, conceptual design, detailed design, product design/development, and usability testing. I also have experience in sustainable design, fabrication, construction administration, and user-experience design.
I have seven years of professional experience. I entered graduate school in 2008. While in graduate school, I’ve added a formal background in human factors & ergonomics and systems science. During graduate school, I have been a research assistant, working in the healthcare market sector on the design of complex, interactive architectural systems, primarily with the Institute for Intelligent Materials, Systems, & Environments, the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research, and the Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital.
I completed my PhD in December, 2013. I now have a temporary postdoctoral research position at cuicar. Moving forward, I am focusing on complex, mission-critical environmental and product design challenges.
