Reinventing the Sale is based in the UK. It was founded by John Rees, a vastly experienced executive who has worked with companies across many different sectors, primarily in the knowledge-based sectors of manufacturing, supply chain, technology and software.
THE FOUNDER'S STORY
For more than 30 years, I worked for some great companies in the US, Europe, Middle East and Africa. I've managed teams and run my own business.
I was very successful so I could afford to retire, which is what I did in 2003. After a few months though, I was itching to do something useful. But I didn’t want to get back on the corporate treadmill, because I wanted to work on my own terms.
I know how hard it can be to succeed. So I thought it would be a great idea to share my ideas and skills with small business owners. I could help them avoid some of the pitfalls.
THINKING DIFFERENT ABOUT SELLING
To succeed you must be able to sell. It’s a core skill every business needs.
But many businesses get this wrong because they push their products at buyers, rather than helping them to buy.
You must change your focus and create demand for your products. And you do that by telling a story that describes what you do in a way that buyers find compelling.
This sounds ridiculously simple and of course it is!
But so many businesses get it wrong. They overcomplicate things, which is why I focus on simplicity.
