I've always loved words. As a student in grade school, I was two years ahead of my peers in "English" class. At 14, I started my own newsletter, which I lovingly distributed to friends. At 17, I enrolled in a word processing course at the local technical college (computers were new then!). After completion, I realized the material being presented was incomplete - so I rewrote the course manual. Next I became a legal assistant for our family lawyer, typing and proofreading a variety of legal documents. Moving on, I accepted employment at a vitamin supplement company, where my most favorite job ever involved working as editor, designer, and coordinator of Health Counselor magazine, a publication that focused on natural health alternatives. Later, I moved to Colorado where I took a temporary position working in medical records for a local hospital. For the past 21 years, I've been an independent touring dance instructor. In addition to teaching classes and judging competitions, I proofread step descriptions for accuracy, create flyers for events, and develop online content for social media.
