About

“Balancing the needs of the Resource Industry with Environmental Sustainability”

Johnathan holds a B.Sc. (2007) in Environmental and Conservation Sciences and is currently working towards a M.Ag at the University of Alberta. Every year since 2008, Johnathan has participated in field and reporting programs in various capacities for several multi-million dollar Pre-Disturbance Assessment and Conservation & Reclamation clients in Northern Alberta. These projects have ranged from smaller, single hectare sites to larger projects over 300 hectares in size.

His role typically involves management of multiple subcontractors as well as control of the technical, quality, schedule, and financial aspects of project management. Johnathan’s responsibilities include: designing programs for the collection and interpretation of soil and vegetation data; leading the field component of soil, rare plant, ecosite, and weed surveys; overseeing Pre-Disturbance Assessment and Conservation & Reclamation report writing and reviewing; and field program management for soil salvage/construction programs and Pre-Disturbance Assessment and Conservation & Reclamation Planning for Oil & Gas clients in Northern Alberta. As the program field lead, he is responsible for the overall quality and success of the program.

John is passionate about process development, quality management, and staff training to optimize the efficient delivery of a successful program. He currently manages the reporting schedule and ensures regulatory compliance through data collection, report writing, and senior report reviews. He is an excellent trainer, safety leader, and client/contractor liason.
